We’re so proud of everything that EFDSS' National Youth Folk Ensemble has achieved so far - under the guidance of Artistic Director Sam Sweeney, our first cohort have been busy all year rehearsing and meeting with a wonderful range of guest tutors. They've even supported Leveret at The Met in Bury!
What's more, the project is more than just a wonderful band of musicians: it’s also a major outreach and engagement initiative, through which EFDSS can work with young people who may otherwise have no access to folk music at all.
We would love to build on this project's success, which is why this summer, we need your help for it to grow.
A donation of just £10 will enable us to invest in EFDSS' youth outreach programme, and offer places at our full-day workshops to even more young people. If you could give even more, A donation of £20 would pay for an Ensemble member’s one-to-one session with a folk musician at the top of their game - or a one-off donation of £200 could underwrite a young person's fees for an entire year of the programme. However much you are able to give, it will make an enormous difference to the next generation of folk musicians.
There's never been a better time to donate to Cecil Sharp House and EFDSS - between now and 2019-20, every penny you donate will be matched by Arts Council England! If you can gift aid your donation too, that means a £10 donation is worth an incredible £22.50 to us.
